Going to avoid watching any more vids, I'm sure they contain far too many spoilers :) Half the fun of going into a new XCom game is having an un-revealed tech tree to explore.

Watched the first of the playthrough videos and that is it. Not played the demo either if it's just a training level.
 
Sorry for my lack of knowledge is their any form of multiplayer with the game is it single only ?
 
Never played an XCOM game before.

But I got what I expected and I liked it. Been a long time since I've played this sort of game, last 1 would have probably been Incubation.
 
These last few days must be a torment for the scaredy-spolier brigade! :D

That base assault mission was savage and lots of hard work was undone very quickly indeed. :eek: So long as the game plays fair and the shooting through walls nonsense is cleared up, then things are looking good.

It's been DMCA'd. Funny how these companies dont want to market their products. Just like I couldn't watch the Hobbit trailer this week because it was pulled from You Tube. A film studio that doesn't want you to see their trailer; what a strange world we live in...
 
Well the Civ 5 unlock has swung it for me... just cancelled my £24.99 Zavvi pre-order for my first ever Steam new release purchase. I buy hundreds in the sales, but never a full priced new item. £29.99 is a decent Steam price, throw in Civ 5 and it's a no brainer. Plus I'll be guaranteed to play it on Day 1 ... I had a horrible feeling my Zavvi order wouldn't arrive on Day 1!

Plus Civ 5 is now installing and will keep me occupied until the 12th :D

Ditto. I only ever buy in Steam sales, and never pre-order.

This game is just something else :) It's XCom; it's made by Firaxis... how can it possibly go wrong? :p
 
The demo was underwhelming for me.

It was difficult to get any feel for what the game is like to play because the tutorial took over completely. Just show me the video next time and save my bandwith imo.
