xD card help please

Just bought a Olympus 1GB xD card in preperation for my holiday. When i put this in my camera it works fine,camera recognises it as a 1GB xD card.

When i put the card in my card reader and connect to my pc it says " device in drive I not formatted do you wish to format now"

I tried computer management to see if i could format the card from there but it says "unreadable"

I'm sure its not the card reader as it reads all my other cards so any ideas?

My el cheapo card reader reads my Fuji 1gig, 512mb and 32mb xD cards fine...if it works in the camera and not the card reader the reader must be a bit touchy somehow!

Have you formatted it in the camera and tried it afterwards?

Yeh ive tried formatting it in the camera. Might have to invest in another reader to see if it is that.

Firstly, don't format with your pc. This can make the card unusable.

Second, the reading problem is common. A lot of readers can't use the newer type of xd card ie type H.

Checked with Olympus and i need a Olympus xD "m" reader

Ok ive Googled for these and i am not getting any clear results.Anyone know where i can get one from please?
