Hi All,

So just finished a 12 hour first time hard tubing build with all Corsair Hydro X components.

Long story short - finished wiring and everything up this morning after the marathon that was yesterday to actually build, bend and cry the build together. Get to the stage where I am ready to leak test (using an external PSU)

I start the leak test all seems fine, although I realise I have the pump pmw plugged in so the pump must be running at a lower speed - switch off to then unplug the pwm so I don't do it whilst the pump is running, start it up and I can hear it ramping up much much faster and the loop is running faster -great - however then this loud noise kicks in as the pump reaches full speed I assume, almost a vibrating kind of intermittent grinding type noise - immediately shut it off and I am assuming the impeller or something is imbalanced so will likely have to RMA - just thought I'd post here and check to ensure I am not just being a bit too cautious and perhaps its just air in the motor etc that will go away - doubtful but wishful thinking never hurt anyone haha!

Any thoughts welcome,

Thanks

Fair point - I considered that as a potential issue, although I was particularly careful with flushing all rads and also each of the hardline sections after each cut + deburring prior to installing (still a possibility though!)

I did also however send a video of the pump/sound off to Corsair and they confirmed that I should RMA the pump.

Perhaps a little risky, but I have run the system for the last 24 hours or so with the pump running at up to about 85% without issue (after being able to get into ICUE and being able to monitor appropriately), anything over about 88/90% and that sound returns so figured its better to just replace so I can take the original one apart and see what went wrong so to speak.
