Hi,
Anyone out there know what the max Data Transfer Rate of the XDA Exec - SD Card is?
Want to buy a 2 gig card but don't know if it's worth spending loads if the Exec can't support the cards data transfer rate.
Know wha' I mean?
Thanks,
fanger

Data transfer rates mean nothing for the Exec. It will happily work with 4GB SD cards if need be (although on some FW the camera cannot save images to the memory card, thats all). Don't bother with hi-speed data cards, it won't make a difference to the exec, it doesn't support them.

Thanks Airax.
It's not so much the size of card but the speed at which the xda can read from it.
I got a cheap 1gig card and tried playing a couple of very slow .wmv files (330 Kbps) from it, and media player kept stuttering.
I'm wondering if that's the xda or the cr*p card's data transfer rate.

99% certain it would be the XDA, even at slow speeds the SD card is quick enough to keep up.

I can play music from the sd card on my xda IIi fine using windows media player.

The transfer rate doesnt really affect the pda, its more to do with how fast you can transfer data to the card from the pc.

Me too. MP3's no prob it's just vid files (typically larger than a few meg and with >300 kbps) and yet the card boasts it's capable of 2 meg/second data transfer rates.
I think Airax has answered the query. i.e; the xda must have other running processes going on that interrupt media player's playback from the card.
Really annoyed - one of the main reasons I bought it was to demo vid clips to clients. Oh well, back to the laptop with them

I can play vga Xvid at over 1Mbps, maybe you need to end the running programs by going to the memory section in settings?

Download tcpmp and try playing the videos with that instead.
