So this morning we upgraded Overclockers to XenForo 2.3

While we have done several test upgrades and should have ironed out any bugs, if you find anything please let us know here.

A few things of note for you guys.

  • The site should be more responsive and generally faster loading
  • New search functionality should provide more accurate results (note, the search is currently disabled while it is reindexing)
  • Ability to search your PMs
  • Passkey support (no more 2fa needed if you use these)

The backend changes enable a whole bunch of cool stuff for us to further develop the forum and offer cool stuff to forum members. These are under development / planning and look forward to releasing them as and when they are ready.

These will include things such as bringing back the popular priority ticket support via the forums, and Single Sign On between the forums and store.

Otherwise, if you are reading this, hopefully nothing set on fire :)

Here's a bug, if you disable 2FA and use Passkeys, then this works fine on desktop, but if you the go to mobile via the phone web browser (also Firefox though not relevant) then you can add a passkey for that device and it saves fine and shows in the list of passkeys, but when you go to log in via mobile web browser it tries to use Google to find the passkey which obviously doesn't exist

Not really a bug, its expected behavior as you would need a portable passkey app, Proton pass for example.

So for now Passkeys only work on the desktop which is fine, doesn't work on mobile but can log in using just password without 2FAing with a passkey, which is also fine for now.

Works on both, you likely need to go into your phone settings and specify which Passkey handler to use (otherwise it will default to Google).

Edit 2 - Second potential complaint - the online indicator looks a bit of a funny shape, as if it started life as a dot but has been modified to be a little stripe but not quite all the way.

Maybe something i'm remembering wrong but I think previously if you were in a thread or a subforum and used the search bar, it would default to 'this forum' or 'this thread' but now it's always default to 'everywhere' - has that actually changed or am I just imagining it used to change defaults?

A number of the search functions are being re-implemented as they involved complex changes in the backend.
