Sort of confused as to which CPUs will allow XenServer, which mandates 64bit and VT support.

Checking Intels website it seems to suggest that even a P4 640 would do, is this the case then as we have loads of P4's at work that I could use to evaluate the product. Reason for the question is that I need to make a statement tomorrow whether new hardware will be required as I've sort of already suggested to my Manager that we may need some new desktop and or laptops with the latest CPUs before we can start the eval.

Thought I'd put in an update. The P4's won't do as I tried installing XenServer which promptly complained that the CPU was not 64 bit. Going back to the intel CPU checker website it seems that the I needed to use the filter to then select which CPUs have the EMT64 and VT technologies.

Looks like we'll need to order around 4 el-cheapo C2D (E6xxx or maybe even Q6600) machines, 1 each for the people involved in the eval.
