I was just wondering if OCUK are ever gonna get these in, as they seem pretty readily available in the US. Is it that Intel never shipped any over here and are never going to?

Built a system around one (imported cpu) and it did'nt do any better than most E6600s i've overclocked so you might just be better off with an E6600.

I mate

i bought one xeon 3050 two months ago
(here in PT is available)
it´s like a E6400 ( default 2133mhz / 2MB L2 cache) - for overclocking purposes is the same ,more or less
but it was designed for server computing.so the silicon wafer is suposed to be better

it´s a little beat more expensive too

ps - mine top´s at around 3800 / 3900 mhz with 1.55V core

Sounds good. How much exactly did you pay? Are those overclocks stable?

cost me 250 euros

at 3800 mhz( 475x8) it´s stable to work in windows, surf the net, do SP 1M etc

but Orthos fails in a few seconds
to do Orthos stable ( 8 hours ) i have to lower Ovck to 450x8 ( 3600 mhz)

I do not put more than 1.55V thru it ,cause on air ,i think it´s to risky
( and even 1.55V is to much in my opinion)

I have tried 500x8 (4000 mhz) the system boots, but windows frezzes when loading .

but yesterday I discover I have one stick of the ram with problems
do memtest V 1.40 and it is giving errors

so I´m in the process of rma the ram :o

Thanks for the info guys.

I think i'll stick with the 6600 i was gonna get, its gonna be too much hassle to try and hunt one of these down. I would probably have to get the damn thing imported from the US anyway.
