Xeon E3 1230 V3?

I suppose time and time again it has been asked.

Long story short a friend can get me the Xeon E3 1230 V3 1150 socket for my mitx mobo. He can get it for the same price as a i5 4690k.

In this situation i take into account what il be using my pc for which is graphic design, illustrating , watching films and playing games such as fallout 3, battlefield and skyrim.

Will the Xeon E3 1230 V3 be a really good cpu for my job when used with my Nvidia GTX 970?

It's a solid chip and will be great with your 970 If you're interested in overclocking go for the i5 if not the Xeon would be the better choice.

I would go for the Xeon if your not overclocking. Hyperthreading will help abit too.

If you do overclock then go for the i5 4690K, if not the xeon will give you a better experience.

Xeon with a 970 will be a great combo. Overclocking is out the window but if you're itx size then less heat is better anyway.
