xeon or core 2 duo for gaming ?

Core 2 Duo all the way. The best bang for buck Core 2 Duo has to be the E4300 @ just over £110. It all depends on what you can afford though. If you can afford the E6600 then buy it, if not drop down to E6400, etc.
