Ok so who actually runs Xeons in their machine?! Or are you all happy enough with i5/i7's oc's?!

I run an Intel X3450 in my Supermicro X8SIL-F board.

Looking to move to an Ivy Bridge CPU + mainstream board later in the year.

Xeon? i run a gaming/benchmarking rig, not a server i5 is perfectly fine........... for now

Just wondered if people did use them for a less than std application with any benefit

At Gadget Show Live they had a gaming rig with two Xeon CPUs in an x58 board i think it was.

Now it's all i think about lol. I would love a system with a server chip, i'm surprised there aren't more people on this site who use them, though i guess it's not practical is it.

Given that a current X79 i7 is a cache stripped xeon, then why would I want to gain a few MB cache and lose all the features of my board?
