At that place I'm not allowed to mention they are £180 so I thought I'd get one, but i'm not going to ask any of the staff because they talk out of their arse, in my experience. so i came here.

I've read a few reviews and what not, and a lot of pages are saying "Maximum screen resolution 1280x1024" and I was just wondering, is that for real, because i'm not really willing to let go of my 1920x1440...

i've read up on a few other monitors and they suggest that 19" moniotrs can reach 1600x1400 max and some others the desired 1920x1400..

so is there really a limit of screen resolution? what does limit it? is there anyway to hax it bigger? cheers~

TFTs are fixed at a certain max res, and CANT go higher,

generally, they are as follows

4:3

15 = 1024x768
17 = 1280x1024
19 = 1280x1024
20+ = 1600x1200

widescreen

19 = 1440x900
20 = 1680x1050
24 = 1920x1200

then it gets to silly prices :p

Don't buy anything at that place you mention in your OP.

A 19" Widescreen resolution is generally 1440 x 900. You can get some reasonable ones for around £150 if you look around.
