Xerox XA7-19i

I have heard there was a HUGE thing over this monitor, as depending over whether you got either a 16ms or 8ms version of this model meant that other aspects specs of the monitor changed making the screen WAY better value for money. Is this true? Can anybody remember this? Is there a way of telling the screens apart from their Product Code if this is correct?

If by chance anybody knows of this (or I may have this muddled with another one of the Xerox's), could you please reply with ANYTHING you know about this at all...

Reason being, I am looking to purcase one of these screens, and I have a choice of the following product codes:

16ms : LQ2 - EGT - N0W325 - D

8ms : LQ1 - EGI - L0W266 - EDH

Unknown Response Time : LQ2 - EGT - N0W324 - D

Any help would be much appreciated...

The original Xerox XA7-19i was indeed using a 16ms TN Film panel, but last year they updated this to an 8ms spec panel and renamed the model to XA7-192i in most references. This is normally marked by the presence of an "8ms" sticker on the box or reference to it being the XA7-192i" model. Bit more detail about the 8ms edition here :)

Thanks for the speedy reply there Baddass, so what your saying (and from the looks of the link) is that the 8ms model is the better of the two? I indeed have seen this 8ms sticker on the front of one of the boxes, however I have not seen XA7-192i on the box, it is still referd to as XA7-19i on the box... but from what you are saying, that is normal aslong as the 8ms sticker is on the side?

Do you know of the exact specs for the 8ms model? Or a link to where these specs may lay? It's just that after some "Googling" there are so many mixed specs for the same model, that it is overwhelming!

Thanks again for your reply!

If anybody else has any other information, please dont hesitate to post a reply...

Yes, I know what you mean... I had a Xerox once until I sold it. Just a warning, their warranty service is very slow - waited at least 120 days (4 months) for a replacement.

There have been reports of different contrast ratios, some etailers list one stat and Xerox lists another... Either trust what is written on the websites or ring them up to verify the specification, but I'm sure most of the Xerox XA7-19i are 8ms. I don't think they use the "XA7-192i" name anymore.

These are nice looking screens, but they all use the standard TN panel, the premium prices for these are made up from the glass fronted screen.

yep, the XA7-192i naming was mostly used on line and not on the boxes. the 8ms edition was denoted by the sticker

They all turned out to be the CMO TN Film panel version whose specs were: - CMO M190E5-L0A 8ms, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 700:1 contrast ratio, 16.2M colours

Thanks Badass and kbc for your replies...

Badass, is the 8ms screen the better of the two then? I would assume that if they are both using the standered CMO TN film panel then the 8ms would be the better regardless. Does the 8ms have a better contrast ratio then the 12ms version ar are they the same apart form the obvious response times?

Thank you all for your help in this matter...

when ocuk first got the 19i's in stock i bought a 8ms model and its just called 19i ..

the MASSIVE thing about this monitor, was to do with them claiming the monitor had great viewing angles, which implied a PMVA panel, but it seemed this was false, and we were all waiting for replacements for ages, then got bored
