Am i right in thinking that the xfi has a built in ac3 decoder or should I install the ac3 codec? I want it to decode ac3 for DVDs and AVIs and im not sure if it does the later into 5.1? Hope somebody knows what im on about!! thanks

It can play back ac3 through its own mediasource player which im sure includes dvd playback and maybe avi files. but for other players youll need so tell them to send audio via spdif if you want the xfi to decode the stream. ac3filter set to spdif will work for avi files.
