You will not notice any difference in sound! But it may be worth it if you can get money back on the PCI card on the bay!
Isn't PCI express faster then PCI?
Yes ..below from another site. But whether it makes any difference to sound cards is a good question.

xtreme audio? stay away, its a downgrade.
He hasnt said it is exteme audio! If its the extreme gamer then he is swopping like for like but being able to use the PCI-e interface and that may be worth it for him.

Nope, it wouldnt be an 'upgrade' to go PCI-E, a sidestep at best, if its either of these then go for it
