I brought my x-fi card some time ago but didnt realise i brought the "pro" version which didnt include the break out box. So i have recently just brought the break out box from ebay with the remote. and i can not get it to work.

It didnt come with a cable, so im using a universal IDE cable, (all pin holes are vacant). Not any where in my software for the sound card does it give me the option to out put through the box, almost as if my version of software isint written for it, ive tried updating and still nothing. Not even the remote works with it. Ive got the cable from the card to the box on the correct pins.

Apart from the break out box being broken, has anyone had a similar problem where it was down to the software/drivers.

Any help would be great.

Im afraid the box is probably fine, the problem is the cable its not a standard IDE cable as it has a slightly different pin out, I used to have one when I had the live! platinum and I tried IDE cables and they never worked. Maybe if someone would be kind enough to look at their cable they could post the pinouts so you mod an ide cable, failing that you will need to find the real deal.

EDIT:

After doing a quick google I have found some pinouts for the audigy versions they should be the same, hope this helps.

The X-Fi Elite Pro has an external breakout box  At first i thought you merant the Xtreme Gamer Professional, but if you got it ages ago it cant be that as they only came out recently

I think he has the Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Professional version that doesnt come with the internal IO bay. But your right it is a recent card.

Ive emailed creative online shop for that ADLINK cable.. thats what connects to the soundcard to the breakout box.... its needed to make it work.

Will find out soon if I can get... need it badly lol

PS check my thread few post down on "ive lost my Xfi IDE cable"..... theres no bugger out there that makes/sells em only place to get them is Creative and there support is quite poor but will see its only been 3 days since my email to them.
