Have any of you had issues since installing Vista SP1?

The issue I've got is occasionally my pc will freeze and require a hard reset whether it be gaming or watching a video and the last sound that I hear will constantly repeat itself and the PC will then be frozen at this point and require a hard reset.

On the next reboot Windows re-detects "Multimedia Device" and looses the XFi drivers. I have to then uninstall and then reinstall the XFi drivers.

Before SP1 I had no problems like this, only since doing a clean install with SP1 have I experienced these issues.

Thanks :)

I get the issue with my Gamer where, on a reboot Windows doesn't detect the X-Fi at all. I then need to re-install the X-Fi drivers over the top of the old one and on next reboot it's back agian. I don't get any freezes though. Weird.

try switching the pci slot that the card is in

xfi + vista = ####bag of problems :/

Did that last week :) after Vista failed to detect the card after trying everything.

I'm considering downgrading to XP Pro in the mean time. It's 2008 and Creative are strugling to write drivers for their software and takes them a year to fix one thing or was that just a cosmetical change?

have exactly the same problems with Vista X64...though not running SP1.

I'm fedup with my X-fi card. Have tried swapping PCI slots, it doesnt work

Its not just Vista - I've just thrown mine out with my 4Gb XP64 system. Installed the beta driver to resolve some sound problems, which resulted in BSOD every 10 to 30 minutes. Now I can't install the old driver - it blue screens during the driver install :(

Ripped it out in a fit of temper in the end and reverted to onboard audio, which is noticably worse quality but at least it seems to be working.

Good hardware, hopeless software, I am not a happy bunny at the moment.

I have yet to have anyof these issues as yet. I have just installed a XFI Pro Elite into my P5n32-E SLI MB with a Q6600 4GB of Ram SP1 on both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Premium. I have not installed it on my install of Ultimate yet but I'll soon let you know.
While I'm here I'll ask. Has anyone tried installing the Cubase LE that is on the App CD. The Version I have only seems to support XP. The install shield states that my version of Windows is not supported. I can bypass this of course but I was wondering if there was any support on a patch for Vista 32 or 64 bit?

Well i'm back on Vista now, the exact same issue happened under XP after a couple of reboots! So I think the card may need to be RMA'd but i'm giving it one more chance first :)
