xfire mobo

Hi,

There are some problems with the Asus at the moment, although these problems seem to be linked to high HT overclocking. I would still suggest either go for the Asus or wait for the other manufactures to release there RD580 boards if you are going the Crossfire route.

The Sapphire you linked to uses the older Chipset and is also using the pretty terrible SB450.

In all honesty, the Asus has ironed out most of the bugs with the latest bios, and with another bios release iminent, it can only (hopefully) get better.

have a read through the mahooosive thread and make your decision then.

dont get that sapphire mobo, i just sold mine cos its a load of rubbish ;)
was looking at xfire mobo
only reason l was looking at above sappire was the amount of pci 32 slots as l need at least 3 for my current setup for work and play/using 4 pci 32 at moment and can loose on1
l currently have abit av8 3 eye with ock ati x800xt pe [agp] g- card and want to migrate to pci express g-card which means l need to change my mobo ,want also to stay ati g-card for my work as it give me the best overall
and need 3 pci 32 slots
all current new xfire either have 1-2 pci 32 slots
was looking at asus amp32 as it has 3 and maybe also allow me to use 2 xfire cards
should have got one of the abit mobo when there where out
owell

Id hold off on the Asus, looks like a bad batch imo, my mate had to RMA his this week as it was dead, and theres another 3x faulty ones popped up on here now by the looks of it.

You'll always get a few faulty ones, mines ok no buzzing from coils, no crashes, no lock ups.

Although I haven't/can't test the Crossfire feature.

that mobo does not overclock at all, not even an extra 10 fsb will be stable hence the reason i went with an nforce4 mobo

Hopefully we will see DFI's RD580 soon. Now that should overclock extremely well, although im a bit nervous about it arriving now nvidia is restricting supply of the ULi SB.
