Xfire or not?

If I was to add another R9 290, how long would you guys recon I can run this set up before until I would need to upgrade to the next generation gpus?

I have a an i5 2500k, 8gb ram and an 850w psu I game at 1080p

Unless you're running 120Hz 290 crossfire is a waste at 1920x1080 really.
You wouldn't need to upgrade for a very long time.

I would hope so, I'm looking at two years more out of 2x7970 @1440p so 1080p would be easy for 290s by comparison.

xfire 290, you are good at 1080p 120hz & 4k 60hz a good 2-3 years down the road
dont know about the cpu though if it will bottleneck the gpus

I figure I might get another year out my 780s but time will tell. I think the witcher 3 might cause the next big upgrade,graphically,for me
