Hi All,

I currently own an Asus EAHD5870 which until Battlefield 3 was working great, but I can't push run Battlefield 3 at 60fps on Ultra Settings. Can I achieve this by adding a second 5870 (Can I purchase any 5870 or does it have to be the same model/manufacturer), or should I look at replacing the gfx card.

My Motherboard is capable of running XFire or SLI.

Thanks in advance.

I'd really like to play the game on Ultra settings, I know it makes no difference at all to the gaming experience. With XFire 5870 can I expect to push 60fps at all times? I'm struggling to find benchmarks with XFire 5870s on-line.

You can crossfire a 5870 with another 5870 or 5850 or 5970 (they don't have to be the same brand)... Guys always check the AMD Crossfire Compatibility Chart. ;) It is on their site if you look for it or just google "Crossfire Compatibility Chart ". That way you don't set yourself up to bad information from people that don't do their research or never owned the product.

Also WaQs what is the specs of your system mate, what resolution do you play at, how many screens, CPU, RAM, Motherboard, PSU and what operating system are you using. We can then help you more to decide.

I have a clan mate who is running crossfired 5870's with zero issues on Ultra. Another clan mate has a single 5870 and looking to do the same upgrade as it is by far the cheapest option available with second hand cards going for between £100 - £130.

I am hoping to sell him mine as I have just bought a 6950.
