So running the following

i7 3770k (can OC to 4.6Ghz @ 1.175v)
MSI Mpower z77
16GB
3 SSD + 1 HD
2 Fans
HX850

have i got enough power on the HX850: ( i would assume yes but i seen some interesting figures reviews give on power consumption...)
290x's
or
2 Titan Blacks

You'll be fine with the 290X's at stock and maybe with a small overclock. Ideally though id be leaving them at stock if i was you and instead focus on getting that cpu overclocked to the hilt. Of course if the game you're playing uses Mantle, then just put the cpu to stock clocks.

For reference, with the spec in sig, (cpu at stock, 1.2v) and stock gtx 780's. I'm seeing power draw at the wall of 650w including monitor when gaming. PSU is also an HX 850 though I'm gonna replace it soon as its quite old now.

I was running I7 [email protected], 2 GTX Titans@1000mhz, 3HDDs, 3SSDs and around 8 fans... the power draw from the wall was 850W tops, or something like 700W from the PSU.

Running the CPU @4.8ghz and the Titans at 1150 it would get up to 960W from the wall on benchmarks... something around 800W from the PSU..

It was running this for 6 months in a TX850v2

Cant see the op's cpu being an issue with sli/xfire. 4.6 on a 3770k is roughly equivalent to a sandy i7 @4.9ghz. Looks like a very good chip though as the voltage is very low for the oc, bit of headroom should you wish to clock it higher.

Setts i reckon in games a sandy at 4.5 is the same as an ivy at 4.6, 4.7 max i'd have thought. The difference could be bigger i suppose, it just seems unlikely.

EDIT

I suppose the 3770K is clocked a ball hair higher, so i guess that plays a part.

I found my old 4770k at 4.2 matched the 3770k I had before at 4.5. But tbh, any of the recent i7's from sb onwards will be grand with multi gpu's. I'm not seeing any problems with sli 780 even on a stock 4790k, (4.4 under turbo on one core).

ive had this 3770k at 5ghz and it was fine so, can be donme quiet easily with max temp on intel burn test of 68c on air

That's very impressive smogsy, one of the best I've seen in here. I'm assuming its been delidded?

i got it slighty wrong on the volts

heres my results i noted down in notepad back in the day

3.5ghz @ 0.850v
4.0ghz @ 0.950v
4.3ghz @ 1.096v
4.4ghz @ 1.136v
4.5ghz @ 1.145v
4.6ghz @ 1.156v

notes:
upped the cpu fans from 40% to 70%

46c @ 4.4! in game

also every temp is ice cold considering i only have 2 120mm fans spinning at 1000rpm
