XFX 290x Custom Cooler

Yeah, it is why OCuk dont stock XFX. Their PSUs were awesome and internals are Seasonic on most but there is little reason to buy XFX when you can get the same thing from other brands but with a decent RMA. Shame really.

I got refused warranty by xfx on a 2 month old card.

Shop closed so couldn't return to them.

Never again.

I wouldn't even touch their psu's, my friend was getting refused warranty on his one.

Cant understand how XFX can get away with such a poor RMA. Anything they offer is available for around the same price or cheaper by other brands, with the same internals whether its a PSU or GPU.

XFX PSU are very good, they are just rebranded seasonic units :) . But they put cheap ass crappy memory in their gpus. but i have to say some of their coolers are very nice

I have said XFX 280X - I bought it just before christmas in spite of the bad rep for the company - demand outstripping supply and both outstripping my patience. All I'll say is that it was an upgrade from a radeon 5770 and its ****ing brilliant.

I understand that regardless of how good the r9 coolers from xfx look, they aren't thermally the best under load, but on the desktop get the best temps; mine idles in windows at <30 degrees (though it is cold at the moment and I would suck the **** from a dead mans a-hole before I turned the heat on - dollars better spent at ocuk ;) and doesn't go above 50 in full whack 1440p bioshock infinite.

I imagine the relative performance of the 290x custom coolers will be much the same and so think the DirectCU II will be the one to have.
