ATI Windows Hang After Driver Installation?

I have found the BIOS, but it would seem that my issue is another issue. Upon installing the drivers for the video card, and restarting, I have a problem with Windows not loading after it loads its own files. I'm sure someone has heard about this, but I'm looking for solutions to the problem. Thanks in advance.

Bump, still looking. If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.

Update on the situation: This site has now told me that they do not have the BIOS for the card. XFX has told me that the card is old, and they do not have it... More updates later.

Bump. Sorry for the bumps guys but I really need this slave BIOS. XFX has not replied to me asking them for the BIOS again, and this site told me that they don't have the BIOS. Thanks for looking.

I was under the impression that theres only one BIOS for the card? Or am I wrong?
Which XFX model is it by the way?

Just download a 4870X2 compatible firmware for your card and edit the UID so that when installed it says XFX 4870 under manufacterer ;)

Well, the problem is, this card was released in 09, and when I try to use anything that isn't the original BIOS, it gives me all kinds of artifacts and even BSOD as soon as Windows loads. I think they used a different PCB design on their rendition because I cannot use any other BIOS.... If anything, does anyone have a BIOS that SHOULD work for it? Thanks for your replies.

Why don't you check out the differences between master and slaves bioses for other 4870X2s and have a go at modifying the master bios you already have?

"Radeon BIOS Editor" should let you at least look over the bios and its settings. I can't imagine a slave bios would differ that much to a master.

Surely another forum someone still has a 4870x2?

Do you REALLY need to have an XFX bios? Could you use one from another card manufacturer?

I've tried to use the Sapphire BIOS and the Asus TOP BIOS, neither of which work, which led me to the idea that XFX either used a newer BIOS, or a new PCB design. I'm not sure if any other BIOS works, which was why I was asking if anyone knew if another BIOS worked. Editing the BIOS, I think, would not work either if the other BIOSes worked. Someone please help!

Sorry only have a 'Powercolor' 4870X2 and it's watercooled and I don't have a watercooling setup at present to run it :( Someone must have an XFX X2 though, if not here then on techpowerup/xtremesystems or somewhere.

They said that since they don't still manufacture it, they probably won't have to BIOS. I was just like, man I hope there's an exception where it justs pops up out of the blue. Still no avail, still looking... Thanks for the replies gusy.

I have gotten the BIOS files but now a new problem persists that many people have found. Upon installation of the ATI drivers, when I reboot, Windows does not load. It hangs just after loading the files, and if I wait long enough, come up with a BSOD. Any help on this issue?
