I ordered the 4870X2 a few days ago and it arrived today. Good card, quite an upgrade from an 8800GTS 320MB, a bit hard to fit though, but, these things happen.

Anyway, the card is advertised as coming with a copy of Assassin's Creed and an AMD hat! To my horror the package included no hat.

Now, really, I'm not that bothered about either extra really, if I wanted a Free copy of Assassin's creed, I know where to get it, and while the hat may be slightly humorous, I had no intention to do anything, maybe burn it to save money on heating, but, that was very unlikely.

However, I'm curious as to why such things are advertised if they don't actually come with the card. I've looked and I've found no spare CDs, nor hat-sized pockets. I don't particularly care about either item, so, it's not like I'm enraged or anything, just curious.

It's really not worth making somebody go to the hassle of it. I'm happy with my card and as much as I would love to own a cheap and tacky AMD cap, I would feel bad putting somebody to the trouble. :3

As I say, I was just curious.

I've already got it for the Xbox 360, completed it and don't really have much interest in playing it again. I could have given it away to a friend I suppose. But, while it's a good game and all that, it's not worth troubling somebody for it give that I've not intent to play it again.

lol when i got my 3870 it was missing its copy of coj. so i rang up and they sent me one.

now my mate got the same card a week after and i said to him be sure you ask them to make sure they include the game which he did. but it came without it and he entered into a screeming fit with whatever unlucky ocuk phone jocky happened to take that call. it was rather funny in out tech office watching this. think the call lasted 2 mins before the guy on the other end hung up lol

46C at 50% Fan speed.

Considering I have a pretty hot room, and my previous 8800GTS 320MB ran at 50-60 idle with 100% fans, that's kind of impressive to be honest.

GPU and Memory clocks won't change from 507Mhz and 500Mhz unless I use Rivatuner however.
 
I was supposed to get Call of Juarez with my 3850 when I bought it. Sent OCUK a webnote, originally said they would send me GRID, but then they ran out of those so I got Crysis :D

A free game is a free game :)
 
It's because they always buy about five copies of each free game, and run out in seconds, but fail to advertise the lack of stock.

Set up some fan profiles for your card in RivaTuner. Mine idles at 50-60c and loads at about 80, and there's no need for noisy fan at idle that way.
 
Yep send a webnote. I was supposed to get Call of Juarez with something. It wasn't included so I sent them a webnote and got Call of Juarez and Ghost Recon too.
