Hi, I'm getting my brother a gpu for his birthday but I'm not sure which of these two I should go for. I myself have a XFX 260GTX Black Edition and I'm using a 22inch monitor. He has a 24inch screen so maybe the 4890 would be the better choice.

The two cards cost almost the same.....actually the 4890 is on This Week Only Offer and costs 10 pounds cheaper.

Can you please help me make up my mind?

Thanks

The 4890 is probably a bit faster but uses more electricty, runs hotter and makes more noise. For me the difference in performance is not worth the added noise. Both great cards with Pros and Cons. You can't go wrong with either if noise is not a problem.

Resolution makes little difference to be fair. 4890 is the better card and until tomorow a tenner cheaper.
