XFX 5850 Displayport issue

Hi All,

Received my XFX 5850 yesterday and I've been intermittently getting issues with my main display which is connected by displayport.

When the Windows 7 starting screen is shown, it all becomes very fuzzy, as if a magnet had been put next to the screen or something. ATI catalyst also reports a problem, can't remember the exact message but it's to do with a failure in the screen connection. When I unplug the displayport cable from the graphics card and plug it back in everything is fine. This problem occurs somewhat randomly and I can't figure out why it's happening.

I have another monitor , connected by DVI, and a LCD TV, connected by HDMI, which do not have the issue. Is this a hardware fault or software fault? I'm running Catalyst 9.9 on Windows 7. Any help most appreciated, Thanks!

Just to add to my orginal comments, I've discovered that the issue happens when the monitor connected to the displayport turns on from standby. If I have the monitor in non-power saving mode, i.e. on all the time, the issue does not occur. Nor does it occur if I turn on the monitor from cold. But it's happened serveral times when it's on standby.

Now I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue or software issue but I don't have any problems playing games or doing normal everyday stuff.

OK I think I've figured the problem now, I went to the control panel -> advanced power settings -> PCI Express - > Link State Power Management and turned it off. This seems to have sorted out my fuzzy screen when the monitor comes standby.
