xfx 5870 on this week only

I'm curious about this card as an upgrade from my 4870 512mb, I would like to know how long is this card? As my case is a midtower and dont want to do some modding to fit the thing, and also is this the best upgrade as I can also afford a 6950.

I'm happy to go with a nvidia card aswell if theres a better alternative from that camp, as I dont think my needs warrant crossfire action (Ive got a crossfire mobo).

I'm using a 4890 atm and am thinking the same thing:

6950 Vs 5870

Unless I find out that a 570 or 6970 are so much better then spending £270-£300 is possible.

I'll keep an eye on your thread so what the concensus is...

I got a 5850 soon after launch and tbh I can't see me needing to change it out for a while. BF3 maybe. Maybe.

Considered a stopgap (but good) second hand card from the members market? Haven't checked but there should be a few 5850/70s for sale about now
