xfx 6600 overclocking

was fiddling with a 6600gt agp card last night, it said 400mhz clock and 1ghz memory clock (256mb version), I turned it up to 582mhz on both 3D and 2D mode without the test failing, is this good, started playing call of duty 2 and was seeing 43 degress idle and 65 degrees on full load with everything turned to full, what sort of temps should I be aiming for, is it clocked to high, I said the threshold was 145!!!! with to me is daft or am I wrong and thats what they will take

I think a 6600GT runs at 500Mhz default? So it's not such a massive overclock. As long as there's no artifacts and everything is stable then I wouldn't worry.

145C?? I think that's the temperature that you can start to cook on it.

it actually runs at 400mhz standard, its a mistake on the website, i told gibbo yesterday

Every 6600GT I've ever seen runs at 500mhz, that's the standard, then the 'extreme' or OC versions run at 550Mhz+

Yeah it's 500MHz standard. I just told mine to find optimum settings, couldn't be arsed overclocking it myself.
