Hi,

I have a 6750 and problem is that after roughly 1hour of gameplay games will crash and give me a black screen with faint vertical gray bars (like a pin stripe)

I dont know what to do it happens in pretty much every game i play at the moment Deus Ex HR, Just cause 2, Dirt3 to name a few.

Im on the latest ATI Drivers and the card is not overclocked, its only reaching a max temp of about 45oc.

My CPU is overlcocked to 3.5ghz on all 6 cores with turbo boost turned off.

The card is only 3 months old.

Thanks,
Sean

Hi there,

Just to confirm, is the 6pin power connection from the PSU connected into the graphics card?

You mention your CPU is overclocked, have you stress tested it thoroughly (using something like prime95 or IBT) to ensure it is fully stable?

Also, have you tried stress testing the graphics card to make sure it is running ok? (here is a popular stress tester)

Hi,

Its only a 4pin plug on my 6750 and yes its plugged in.
CPU is rock solid stable used prime/FaH/intel burn test etc. all fine.
I have run FurMark when i first got it and it didnt throw up any errors.

One thing is that about 1in5 start ups (cold boot) ill just get a black a screen and nothing else and ill have to hold down the power button and restart. Selecting start windows normally then it will boot into win7.

How would i go about RMA'ing it? It wasnt from OCuk im affraid but another trusted online retailer.

With a problem with cold boot, the first thing I would suggest trying is testing each of the RAM sticks individually (use Memtest) and in different slots and see if any of them throw up some errors.

From the testing you have done it does sound like the CPU is OK.

The XFX 6750 1GB uses a 6pin power connector - but it sounds like you do have it connected.

This is what my card did and was sent for an RMA and approved so guess you might want to contact your supplier or manufacturer for support I'm afraid :(

Just find the email address of their warranty department and they should be able to assist, as it's only 3months old the supplier has to to it for you I believe.

Well ive boxed the 6750 up in all its original packaging, sent them an email detailing my problems etc..
Now rocking a 6200 Turbo Cache 128MB - I tried to launch skyrim and got an error lol.
I tried to play a 1080p rip of the dark knight and just get sound no picture lol
