Well I placed a post sometime ago about one of my XFX 6800GT's giving up the ghost and dying on me which means I am to get a replacement. Unfortunately not another 6800 but somehthing better. :D
OCuk haven't confirmed what yet but early indications look like a 7900 based card. Well it seems that my other card in my SLI rig is now showing signs of dying.

At idle it runs at 97C which is obviously way to hot and after a couple of minutes of BF2 or running 3D Mark 2K6 the Nvidia GPU monitor kicks in (@ 127C by default) and closes the app which is frankly annoying (I have resorted to using a deskfan pointed at the card to cool it).

I have contact XFX and they have asked me to test it in another system to confirm that it isn't my machine.

Just wondering if there are any other users out there that have had both cards in an SLI rig fail close to one another?

Plus one thing that I have realised is that if 12 months down the line one of your cards does fail in an SLI / X-Fire rig and the GPU manufacture decides to stop making your card you are left with a card that you can't do much with which is a little unfair. Why can't they wait at least 12 months before releasing another round of cards. :(

Just glad that these cards come with three years warranty and also means a nice cheap way to upgrade.
