Can someone please shed some light on this situation.. Just built a new rig and im having problems with the graphics.

Whats happening is this. I cant play COD4 or any games and i cant even watch any video(Its jerky). Im also getting back lines and out of place graphics when im on the net.

What i did do or did'nt do was this. When building the new rig and trying to install Vista i forgot to connect the PCI-E power cable to the graphics card(DOH). After about 4 attempts to install Vista i realised the problem.

Now have i fried the card, or with the card being a DX9 and Vista is DX10 is that a compatability problem.

Im getting the XFX 8800 GTX this week so i can check the prob myself, but just want to what you guys think.

Im using the new 175.12 drivers

Thanks for anyone's help

This is my new setup.

Pk5 Premium
4G OCZ Gold
Corsair 620W

You can't fry the card by not plugging in power. It either won't work at all, will scream at you or go into a reduced speed state.

I would wait and see what happens when you get your 8800gtx, the 6800 is very old and might have a few problems with the latest drivers.

Could this be the memory is not set up in the BIOS right. I have updated to the latest one's.

Anyone else got any other idea's??
