Guys I'm pulling my hair out trying to find a BIOS update to my XFX 680i SLi motherboard. I need to update so I can fit my new 45nm CPU. XFX site is crap, and can't find anything XFX related on the nVidia boards.

Any ideas?

Cheers!

Am I correct in thinking that all the 680i SLI boards were reference designs just with different cooling?

I think the BIOS was produced by Nvidia and each manufacturer just cosmetically changed it for their own brand.

If you do a bit of Googling you find the BIOS of one manufacterer being flashed onto another manufacturers board as they're basically the same.

If you're happy to try it the last BIOS produced (P33) is available from EVGA here:

For your information the 680i boards were not very good overclockers on the 45nm quad core CPU's.

My bad. I registered my mobo at XFX and have got the latest P33 BIOS, thanks!

What software should I use to back my current BIOS just in case?

Regarding overclocking, the 680i IIRC doesn't support 45nm quads full stop, but the E8400 is only dual core anyway so I should be ok :)
