XFX 6870 Possible Issue

Hi,

I have booted my new system for the first time and I think I have a few problems with the 6870

I am running it on my 42inch 1080p tv and when set to 1080p the screen is zoomed out and awful display, no where near HD!

Also every now and again, whether browsing or starting a game, it will freeze, sometimes black screen and then says the display driver has stopped working and and has been recovered successfully.

The driver update is awful in my opinion as there is no real easy way to see if your drivers are up to date.

Anyone able to help?

Set overdrive in the Catalyst Control Centre to 0% for a start and then have a play around with your TV's settings.

Ensure the output resolution of your PC is set to 1920x1080.

And you're sure the TV is full HD 1080p? If you're not then list the make and model.
 
Which Drivers are you actually using Ben, as they did fetch in an easy update checker around Catalyst 11.5 I think?
Am getting a lot of display driver stopped working on the latest Battlefield/Rage preview driver too at the min so maybe try a slightly earlier driver if neither of them games are important for you yet.
 
Hi,

I am now trying a re install of windows and use the cd's that came with the board and card as apposed to just installing the lan driver and using windows and manual downloads.

Will let you know the outcome and try the above if doesnt work.
