Wondering if y'all can help, my XFX 6870 graphics card is driving me insane. It seems everytime I turn on my poot there is some new problem!

My display is currently really blurry, like all text and pictures have a second lighter shadow just to the right of it.

I feel like I've tried everything I know to fix this but no joy yet. I really feel like returning this card because its been problem after problem but I don't want to pay the £12.50 if it turns out its just me being an idiot.

Any suggestions?

I assume you're running at the native resolution of your monitor?

Try disabling MLAA (Morphological AA) in the CCC (not sure if this affects the desktop).

Also possibly:

1. Click the start button (Microsoft Logo bottom left of screen)
2. Type into the search box: appearance
3. Click on the link that appears near the top ---> Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows
4. Uncheck Smooth edges of screen fonts

I have to say your screen shot looks quite alright to me, perhaps the problem is with the port(s) on the back of your card or with the cabling between it and the monitor?

Hmmm ok I have tested different cables for it. Another problem I have with games tearing in half can't be seen from a screenshot aswell.

Is it normal that only one of the two dvi ports works? I have my plug in the top one and the bottom one doesn't display anything if plugged in there

That depends.

Only one of the DVI's is dual link DVI-I so that's the only one that'll work above 1920x1200 resolution or with a VGA adapter.

The other one is single link DVI-D so will work up to 1920x1200 and with a digital output only.

Screenshot looks fine to me.

Tried the monitor on another PC? What monitor is it?

On the other hand I've seen this problem happening with HDMI connections on certain TVs. Switching to DVI/VGA solves this though.

EDIT: That classic styled theme...
