XFX 7800GT problem?

I recently built a new rig. decided to go with the XFX 7800GT as it was on offer. I fitted the card and the pci-e molex connector, started up the computer and installed the latest drivers. Everything seemed to work fine but when i played BF2 @ 1024x768 on High settings with AA & AF off i got quite a bit of lag and framerates as low as 20.
I also ran 3DMark05 and my score was 3037 which in my experience is very low for this card.

My spec is:

Pentium 4 3.4ghz "Prescott"
1gb DDR2 PC4300
XFX 7800GT 256mb GDDR3
Ultra x-connect 500w Moduler PSU
Windows XP

Try different drivers.

your PSU may be holding you back as its a cheap one they dont produce what they say they do and they are not stable, i bought this card when it was on offer also i got 7000 in 3D mark 05
