XFX 8600512 GTS WEIRD PROBLEM

Hi All
got a xfx 512mb 8600gts graphics card
psu coolermaster 580w
heres the weird part when i plug in the pcie cable form the modular psu i get not singnal or picture on the monitor but when i plug in the power cable that came with the card (2x molexs to 6 pin pcie connector )
i get everything and the card works fine.
looking at the pcie cable end for the psu it shows 6 connectors and 6 pin in it...
looking at the cable end that came with the graphics card it has 6 connectors but only 5 pins 2 wire going into 1 of the other pins..... i cant understand this........
any help would be great thanks

If those two wires are black, they're merely ground wires, they mean pretty much squat in a setup like that.
