What is the average idle temps for this card?

My mate has one in his system which i recently bought and it is idleing between 70-80 degrees, is this just due to the fact the 8800GTX is more powerfull and power hungry?

Cheers

i somehow don't think it should be idling at 60 - 70*C, seems a bit on the hot side if you ask me, but then again i don't use 8800GTX so im not sure, anyone?

my new evga 8800gtx core is idling at 77c corewith ambient temp at 62c

but this come pre clocked at 626/1458/2000 even though its the vanila one so it sounds right

Chris

59c idle here with the fan at 60% but i also have an antec cool spot blowing on it at lowest speed fan controller will go and have good airflow in the case - i think before i sorted out my case it was idling just under 70c.

Hi gents, this thread is in fact referring to my card. I have just run the first player game in Far Cry and after coming out of the game, my card reading was 89 degrees. Surely this is too hot! At what threshold can I expect this card to implode? (Just upgraded from a 7900 GTX and this card is running about 40 degrees hotter under load. Am I worried - oh yes!

Any body else running this hot?

don't recall any artifacts or any other signal of imminent malfunction. Airflow in case is reasonably good - its the high end wavemaster ATX case that Mesh supply with their systems. Anybody know of any good after-market coolers for the 8800? :D

As for the pcb - yes its green

Forgot to ask, I'm running a 550W psu, would a higher wattage psu influence the temp of the card. Can't see the logic in this but I'm sure I read this in one of the reviews of the BFG card that Overclockers are supplying? ;)
