If you are going to use near 1000W then the 2% efficiency advantage may well be worth the £25 upgrade from Gold. Look like quality PSU's for those with more GPU's than sense :-)

Am I right in thinking that Platinum is 90+? Also, does anyone have first hand experience of the noise levels on these PSUs?

EDIT: just found the answer to my first question.

Yes I do. They have a fan mode selector switch, the first mode leaves the fan on all of the time and only speeds up when needed (basically normal);

The 2nd mode changes it to actually turn the fan off when there is a lower load on the PSU and only turn on at higher loads.

So it is basically as silent as possible.

I highly recommend reading atleast this page of this review: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story2&reid=267

The review states that the fan actually only came on at 804.2W/903.1W (DC Watts/AC Watts) of load was put through it. (1000watt unit)
