xfx geforce 8800 gtx

hi i recently bought this card, and when i try and play some games the screen comes up a mess of colour lines and squares and various other things but on other games its fine can anyone help ?

Sounds like a driver issue. try the latest from the nvidia site, 97.28 are the latest for xp I believe.

I installed the latest driver. and restarted and it does the same also ive noticed that actual gameplay is fine, but its just the movies that arnt working any ideas ?

Hi well i think ive found the problem, whenever i play dowloaded games eg steam games, hl2, dark messiah, or internet games guild wars, they work perfectly, its only the games which im using threw the cd drive that dont work properly, the intro movies are a mess but if i can get into the game it works ok im completely stuck all my drivers are up to date.

Thats an odd problem. I'd check to see if there are any issues with the optical drive you are using or possible some sort of video codec that isn't functioning correctly or missing.

could it be because the cd drive is usb ?
