XFX HD4890 Overclocking Help ?

Hey Guys,

I've got a HD4890 that I run at 2048 x 1152 ( Dell SP2309W )

I have an XFX ATI Radeon HD 4890 1GB GDDR5, which btw cost me £230 at when it first came out, how gutted am I now £164.99 !!!! I would like to know if anyone else has this card and how they've gotten on overclocking it ? I have used Furmark and CCC to overclock it but started to notice atrifacts when I pushed it hard ( can't remeber exact settings, think it went up a fair bit tho ) I have read about the asus card having a voltage tweek that apparently lets you run them pretty high. As the price has dropped quite a bit I don't feel so bad about overclocking it again.

So firstly does this voltage tweek only work for the Asus card ?

Has anyone found a way or another App to change the voltage ?

What are your temps and settings on your HD4890 ?

I've pretty new to overclocking GFX cards i've only ever done my CPU / Ram ect so any help would be appreciated.

I 'think' that the voltage tweak only works with asus cards, someone suggested that flashing the card bios to an asus one might allow you to use the voltage tweak on another card but tbh it sounds a bit risky.

woah are man u losing? I dont follow footie but if they lose, a lot of ppl at work are gonna be v unhappy

Yeah it's 1 - 0 Barca, Eto scored against them. Man U were playing ok at start but Barca playing better really. See what happens in the second half after Ferguson's thrown shoes football shoes at em Half Time now.......

You can tweak the voltage with rivatuner or voltage factory, I use voltage factory with my XFX 4890.

Ah, you didn't sell your Sapphire 4890 on because it was a poor clocker did you? I only ask 'cos I was gonna clock it to the sky with some serious aftermarket cooling, so if it's a bit carp I'll save £40 on a new cooler and sell it on.

Both the XFX and Sapphire clocked exactly the same so I just picked one to keep.

They both do 960/1100 iirc on the stock cooler, I'm now watercooling the XFX but haven't managed to get it any higher than on the stock cooler.
