XFX MiniDP adaptor dead?

Hi All,

Not sure exctly if this is the right forum, but couldn't decide between this and gfx cards, so here goes...

I recently bought the XFX mini-dp adaptor from OCUK (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-150-OK&groupid=1929&catid=1757&subcat=) along with 2 more BenQ G222HDL monitors (i've one already) to make the move to eyefinity.

Trouble is, I can't get any display output from this adaptor, whether it is plugged in alone, with one monitor, or 2 monitors.

I know I definitely need an Active adaptor, but this one clearly states that it IS active. Could it simply be faulty, or is there something I'm doing wrong?

Don't want to RMA it for a replacement, if the adapter isn't suitable (will just get refund otherwise) so does anyone have any experience using these?

I have one too and it works perfectly.

Are you sure you have pushed it all the way into the recepticle - mine took quite a lot of force to push it all the way home - nothing like pushing in a USB port!
 
Spoke to ocuk tech, said that I'd have to get a usb version as these are the only active adapters, and ocuk don't sell them. This seems to go against the information in the product info so I'm still a bit sceptical.

@old gamer. Is your his one powered with usb?

@DDL. I wasn't sure that it was properly connected (it doesn't seem to feel flush) however I've pushed with as much force as I can exert and still no 'click' or similar, so can only assume it is properly connected.
