Hi There,

The past week or so i've had a strange clicking sound coming from the PSU, however this only happens at full load (in a game with lots going on) and even then not all of the time. I can be in the game running around doing stuff and it won't do the sound at all, just sounds as normal.

I've added a video below however after searching YouTube for 'XFX pro clicking' it seems its quite a common issue but the only solution seems to be RMA it (to the Netherlands at my own cost and possible cost of customs when it comes back so out of the question).

https://youtu.be/pYTXyDM-iQk

I've already ordered a replacement (as it isn't the fan causing the sound) however i'm hoping someone can confirm as to whether this is definitely going to be a dead PSU if it is left being used or whether it can be fixed somehow?

Thanks.

the video isnt live anymore, I had a hiper 550W psu that would click when playing team fortress 2. it used to happen when moving the mouse and the clicky sort of static noise came from inside the psu. It was really odd as it only happened with this game.

The warranty was void due to bankruptcy so it got ripped out and a nice ocz stealth extreme 600w went in & it never happened again. Sadly the old psu went in the bin as the pc builder refused to replace it also for the same reason, would never buy from that filthy alleged award winning company again so I build my own again after that.

I dont know if your psu is dead but I played it safe as the pc was too expensive to lose if it went pop.

Won't be a dead PSU but issue with fan probably, try blowing it out with a can of air.

IF that doesn't work tell XFX to pay for shipping costs.

I know Corsair do if you ask them.
