XFX R9 290X artifacting on object edges

Hey guys,

Just got a used xfx r9 290x (looked pretty unused to me) and I have set it to uber mode. I am getting edge artifacting on objects in game, not all objects just some in a scene, it's like a rainbow flicker effect. So for example in splinter cell blacklist when you see writing on walls only the edge of the letters has this rainbow flicker effect. It only happens when I move, not stationary.

Another example is watchdogs, when I look around the edges of leaves on trees and cliff faces will have the rainbow flicker. It's really annoying. Again it's not the whole scene, only certain objects and only when moving.

I also get this edge flicker watching movies but it's very random, on movies it looks like someone has drawn a line around the objects edge with a coloured pen! E.g. a persons nose! It just pops up every now and again and not all of the time and only on small parts of the image. I get no artifacting on desktop and web browsing.

I am using driver version 14.6 rc and have tried as low as 13.12, each time running catalyst uninstall and driver fusion after reboot. Problem not going away. Card is running on stock clocks. What could this issue be? Surely a defective card would artifact all over the place? Never seen it on any card before.

Please can you guys help, just don't know if it's a driver problem or defective hardware :(. I got this 290x for a decent price, and it can be returned but it's too awesome to send back! It runs hot and it's loud but wow the graphics it knocks out are just stunning.

Thanks

I had a similar issue in Watch Dogs with my 7950, I took 50Hz out of my O/C and it cleared it up. Whats the history of the card?
