XFX R9 290x GPU running at 80-90c idle

I am running Eyefinity from a single R9 290X and my idle temps are in the realms of normal (mid 40's). My monitors are connected:

DVI>DVI
HDMI>DVI
DP>DVI (passive adapter)

I have not checked my memory clocks but idling at over 80 degrees just doesn't sound right, even with elevated memory clocks. My old 7970 with memory running at full speed only increased temps into the 50's (from high 30's normally).
