Hi all,

I've just put together a new build consisting of -

Gigabyte GA 990FXA UD3 (Rev. 4.1 Bios version 2)
AMD 8350
XFX Radeon R7 370 Dual fan
Kingston HyperX Black 2 x 4GB
EVGA 500W 80 Plus

Windows Vista SP2 is not recognising the card. I've tried it in both PCI e x 16 slots but it says 'install failed' Device Manager sees it as a standard VGA. (12V supply is good from PSU).

I've just sent a note to Overclockers staff but I wonder if anyone on this forum can help me?

Thanks

John

The Catalyst drivers from AMD will sort the the GPU out.

If you still got issues try downloading the drivers again and uninstall and then reinstall.

It looks like AMD drivers do not support Vista 64 for the R7 370. The latest Vista 64 Catalyst 13.12 was released on 12/18/2013 and supports up to R7 260 Series.

It looks like I'll need to buy a new OS?

Yes, I had a similar issue with a friends machine and ITunes, that was running Vista.

But a upgrade is in order, Windows 10.

Edit: Just realised you did mention Vista in your opening post :p

Went with Windows 7 and added another 2 x 4GB of HyperX. 7 found the card after installing the XFX software. Now looking for a water cooler to replace the pesky 8350 fan.
