There are some problems with VRM temps on the original DD 290 and 290X cards reported on HardForum, some going beyond 120 degrees, and XFX said they were aware of the issue and in the process of fixing it. The card is cheap because I am a good buyer, the stock is the same as the rest of the channel is selling for £20-£40 more.

Once our stock lands, we shall be increasing pricing to pricing to be competitive in the channel, not silly. :)

I can buy them easily, so just poor buyers at our competitors. If XFX goes well for us we shall phase them in, just one step at a time. :)
