Remember this thing is really a Raid 3 controller so you're not using it as what it is engineered for. I know it can do 0 but if you want Raid0 get a Raid0 controller. I use one for Raid 3 with 3x8oGB drives and it's so far caught two drive failures without losing a byte.
remember that this is a pci card, so you are going to be pretty limited anyways, you would be better off using a cheap PCIe card, if you do not have any sata mainboard connects left.

I'd agree with above, I'm using in Raid 3 with WD RE2's and I get around 80MB's with HDTach though that's twice what I can stuff across the network and it was very cheap.... so suits me just fine.
You won't get great rates with a PCI card, some use the later derivations such as PCI-64 to improve speed.
