Does anyone know if the XFX revo is supported by linux. I was under the impression it behaves like a standard IDE drive so i would have thought so. However i cant seem to access it in gentoo. I can see /dev/hda and there is only /dev/sda which is the sata drive my os's are installed on. I cant fdisk /dev/hda i just get an "unable to open" message. Are there any other names it could come under?

I'm using an XFX Revo under Ubuntu Edgy, and it works great. I've just got separate individual drives on the controller (not RAIDed in the BIOS; I use Linux software RAID across multiple controllers). It's supported out of the box by recent Linux kernels (I don't know exactly from which version, but you'll need a kernel from the last year or so).

I believe the RAIDing on the controller is transparent to the OS too, so you should be able to RAID drives in the controller BIOS if you need to.
