Hi, I'm in the process of getting a week old XFX PSU replaced because of the unbearable buzzing/clicking noise eminating from it.

I took out an RMA ticket with XFX directly this morning but am still awaiting a reply from a technician.

My question is, what to expect with an RMA ? Will I have to pay to have a fairly bulky and weighty PSU sent through the post or will they arrange for somebody to pick it up ?
Also will I be likely to have to have some downtime while they figure out if it's faulty or will they send a replacement right away and just take away the dud one on delivery ?

I'm getting a bit concerned as with the price of having to return this PSU I may as well have just bought a more well known and reliable make to begin with.

I'm also concerned incase this noise is "normal" and the replacement I get will be the same, it'll be 20-30 odd quid to get returned for nothing.

The noise sounds like an incredibly fast ticking/whirring/electrical buzz that I can hear above all my other system fans including a V8 on full tilt. I'm not sure if it's because it's particularly loud or because the frequency cuts through the rest of them.

Any info or advice from people who have used XFX's RMA procedure would be great, cheers.

why are you returning it to XFX

return it to Place of purchase and get the to deal with it, if there customer service is good they should send you a replacement from Stock.

I returned my XFX PSU to OCUK (few months old) after waiting two weeks i phoned up and complained at the time and they sent me a replacement from Stock.

I bought it from OCUK but was reading the warranty/support section and it said it's sometimes better and faster to deal with the manufacturer directly. Out of interest how much did it cost to return your PSU to OCUK ?
