XFX X58i Motherboard

Get something like a Gigabyte which is a proven board for overclocking. I don't think the XFX overclock as well from what I have read in the past.

i tried it and it was the worst performing x58 i have used

i would sooner buy a ud3r or a P6T vanilla

or i have been offered a asus rampage ii extreme x58 for £200 of a friend that has just been layed of from work still boxed

That's odd as mine is very nearly as good as my P6T Vanilla. It used to be the cheapest Tri-SLi board, but since Gigabyte made all their boards Tri-SLi I can't see any real reason to get one unless it's very cheap (and they do seem to be very cheap at the places that have them).

The ASUS Rampage II Extreme is a good mobo, for £200 you might want to look at Gigabyte UD5 also, I haven't used one but from what I read its good. The ASUS R2E gave me good results on my 920, currenty testing the W3520.
