XFX7800GTX512 Overclocking Experiences

Just got one of these lovely cards from OCUK. Very happy with it especially as the HSF is silent no matter what the load so I figure it has a lot of headroom to overclockwith that massive heatpipe assembly.

What has everyone else done with this card.

How do you get the best out of it as in FEAR & Quake4 with max details it still slowsdown a lot.

yeah, when you got an excellant card 5 years ago, you could play any game u wanted @ max. now itsn ot the case >.<, bloomin annoyin tbh.

I take it your using one card at 1920x1200?

Yeah 1920x1200 as the Dell2405 does not look good unless it is @ native. Strange thing is my AGP6800GT256 did not run the same games much slower so I must be doing something wrong somewhere in order to get such poor results.

One thing which may not help is I am only currently using a single ram stick as had to RMA the other back to ocuk as faulty so cannot run ram in dual channel mode for an extra speed boost.
